The Tigers fell to the Buda Johnson Jaguars on Friday, September 6, at Bob Shelton Stadium in Buda. Despite leading 17-14 at halftime, Stony Point struggled in the second half, as Johnson’s strong rushing game and a couple of costly turnovers deep in the opponent’s end of the field thwarted scoring opportunities and turned the momentum. Ultimately, the Jaguars capitalized on the errors and came away with the victory 35-24.
Stony Point will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup against Vandegrift on Thursday, September 12. It will be the first district game for both teams.
