Stony Point fought hard but came up short in a tough 17-22 loss to their crosstown rival, the Round Rock Dragons. Coming into the game as underdogs, the Tigers were ready for a battle, playing great defense and controlling the clock to shorten the game. Despite their efforts, they trailed for most of the game but made a late push in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points to pull within one score.
After their final touchdown, Stony Point attempted an onside kick, but it was recovered by Round Rock. The Dragons then converted a crucial 4th and 1, allowing them to run out the clock and seal the victory. The Tigers may have fallen short, but their fight and determination were on full display.
With this game, the Tigers close out their 2024 season, finishing with a 3-7 record. A big thank you goes out to the seniors for their hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the year. As the team heads into the offseason, they’ll be focused on improving and coming back stronger for next season. The Tigers will continue to build on their foundation, working hard to make 2025 a season to remember.
