Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a Stony Point High School senior graduating in the Class of 2026.
- Must have been on the varsity football roster for the entire 2025-2026 season.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Must not have had any athletic or academic suspensions during the 2025-2026 school year.
- Must plan to attend a vocational school, military academy, community college, or 4-year college/university by February 1, 2027.
Application Components
Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Essay (40%)
- GPA (30%)
- Letter of Recommendation (20%)
- Community Involvement/Volunteer Hours (10%)
Essay:
The essay must be a minimum of 250 words and detail what the student has learned from playing high school football, how these lessons will help them achieve future goals, and a summary of their strategic plans for success. Essays must be typed, double-spaced, and in 12-point font.
Official Transcript:
A copy of the applicant’s Official High School Transcript is required. You can order a transcript from the Stony Point Office.
Letter of Recommendation:
One letter of recommendation is required from a Stony Point faculty member or a community member who can speak to the applicant’s character and achievements. The letter may be uploaded or emailed directly to scholarship@stpfootball.org.
Application Deadline:
All application materials must be submitted by December 29, 2025.
Award Notification:
Awards will be announced at the Stony Point Football Banquet in January 2026 and will be presented at the Senior Awards Ceremony in May 2026. Attendance at the banquet and awards ceremony is encouraged.
